What We're Looking For
We seek a passionate Accessibility Developer with strong front-end development expertise to join our Accessibility Team. This role is highly hands-on and development-focused, involving direct contributions to building and optimizing accessible digital experiences.
The ideal candidate is a skilled front-end engineer with deep commitment to accessibility, who can seamlessly blend accessibility best practices with modern UI development. Being an integral part of the team, you should also champion the Shift Left movement of accessibility. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear your story.

Responsibilities
Develop pages compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA or other applicable global accessibility standards from scratch wherever applicable.
Integrate developed pages with any CMS, any JS frameworks, or any backend web technologies adhering to relevant accessibility guidelines.
Implement necessary remediation steps wherever applicable to existing applications or applications we maintain.
Stay at the forefront of advancements in various web technologies, accessibility standards and assistive technology to ensure our solutions and implementations are ahead of the curve and best in class.
Collaborate closely with QAs, Designers, and Project and Delivery managers to integrate accessibility testing into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Provide expert code level guidance and build performant, accessible and elegant solutions in collaboration with client teams wherever applicable and effectively communicate solutions for any identified issues.
Perform code reviews wherever applicable.
Mentor Junior developers wherever applicable.
Serve as a leading internal and external voice on accessibility standards, interpretation, and best practices.
Qualifications
Must be a certified Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) or hold similar certifications
Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing accessible applications.
Proficient in HTML / CSS / ARIA / JavaScript and RWD.
Expertise in implementation of WAI-ARIA
Profound understanding of WCAG 2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2 A / AA / AAA, Section 508, ADA, and EN 301 549.
Deep understanding of DOM and browser rendering process.
Proficient in utilising assistive technologies like screen readers, screen magnification software, Keyboard and other input mechanisms and speech recognition tools for development and testing
Proficient in utilising accessibility testing tools like aXe, Lighthouse, WAVE, Microsoft Accessibility Insights, etc.
Thorough understanding of Figma and design ecosystem.
Knows Git and version control
Bonus Points
Experience working in a startup or mid-size organisation
Proficient in Javascript frameworks like Angular, React, Vue, etc.
Good understanding of popular CMS frameworks like WordPress, Drupal, Contentful, Strapi, etc.
